    Mouse hole anvil

I think it must have been Paul Bunyan's that he used when trying to make a new ax. :) Is there any marks on it to show its history?

    Mouse hole anvil

    Off Topic

I am going to plant some mushrooms this weekend. I asked what size drill bit I needed to bring. I was told 12.5 to 13 mm. I hope that the 1/2" I bring will work..... At work today I needed a 9/16" socket and my kit only had 2, 14 mm deep wells. Oh well life goes on. Then tonight I visited a...

    Mouse hole anvil

As a welder how would you fix this? What rod etc. for an unknown steel ?

    New Alfred Pendray razor project

I agree think outside the box! I have the remnants of a satin edge That are as yellow as heck and I have them thinking I might save the bolsters that are green on the inside mostly. The blade was junk from cell rot. As you might notice I am not a fan of clear scales. Any mistake...

    New Alfred Pendray razor project

Crystal clear scales would be hard to do well AND maintain if used. In my opinion if you are going to only display it the clear scales would maybe work but even then I would display it in a semi open position. And then why the clear? If one is to use it the clear scales would add at least an...

    Mouse hole anvil

Lets see how some of our more experienced guys think of this but I sort of envision the anvil as being a big ice cube and sucking the heat out of the piece you are trying to work. With a razor or knife that doesn't take much......

    Mouse hole anvil

The more I watch and learn I am surprised with how much work is done on the edges of the anvil. Sort of like buying a 3 inch hone and doing a rolling X stroke using only the outer 1 inch or less.

    Etching

Has anyone tried pickle juice for etching? After my wife used it for cutting pickles for burgers and leaving the knife on the table for an hour or two it etched my good pattern welded knife........

    sitting down

I will preface this with the statement that I lack the ability to squat at all or for even a short time. One of the things that I see as an issue of working from a low position is that their knees always seem to be in the way. At least they are working around them. What if you used your...

    sitting down

Pretty minimalist set up. Your feet might thank you but does your back like it? How does that block work for an anvil?

    Building a press

Thanks for the offer to use your welder. Might be easier than digging mine out from the back corner of the garage. I can weld but there is a lot of time and money invested in my son why not use him? Sort of like if Bruno builds this press and lets it collect dust in the corner and would still...

    Building a press

My son is a welder/pipe fitter that passes 100% Xray tests in power plants etc. He is good and I am very proud of him! But to get him to come over and weld together my no weld grinder is dang near impossible.........ROFLMAO

    Surface grinder attachment

It surprises me how once you have a tool how many ways that you can think of how to use it. When you have a problem to solve and you don't have that tool, then the tool doesn't enter into your thinking of how to solve that problem. But now that you have that tool it may be the best way..........
