My brother's birthday party was today. I bought a personalized lego mini figure Keychain. I also built him a miniature fortress of solitude with wifi, a scanner, a laser pistol and a death ray hooked to the computer.

Finally got some light forging done. My finger was sore but not dramatic. I made 8 fixed handke razors from 5 mm bar stock. Onky the hollows remain to be done. And also a wootz knife and a small W2.

I finished last year with exactly 100 since I started picking them up. The beginning of this year was fruitful but the weather is causing a noticeable slowdown. It'll all depend on the weather, not for lack of kilometers :) I'm doing 4 to 5 runs every week.

Yeah the steel is fine. I mean as a razor it's great. You are right that the number of layers is a factor but it's also the 1084 which reacts different than the O2 I normally use.

The design and the scales are fine but I don't really like the combination of steel. Iirc it's 1084 and 15N20 and it has a lower contrast than I am used to and etches a bit different. But this was the last one in that steel so now it's gone.
