I think my favourite cheese is cambenzola. I do like different cheeses that one just sits at the top of the list of cheeses that I like. I have not for a while, but did email JFK several times a few years ago and also tried the phone number I had for him, but no answer. I do know he had been...

As I was reading the posts I was trying to recall the last time I polished boots or shoes. My leather work boots get waterproofing and the rubber ones and sneaker don’t get any love. I’m not sure I even own a pair of dress shoes.

    copper and steel coffee scoop

I am a coffee drinker. I am a big fan of the single cup pour over. That looks like a good scoop to me, functional and eye catching. A steal at that price and a very thoughtful gift.

I keep looking at the T-8. ‘My wife and I have ironed out our occupied spaces, looking at 30 years together so far. ‘The only time you have to get a vehicle inspected here is when it comes in from out of province, unless it is brand new,nif you are the second owner, it needs to be inspected...

Nice contact for your wares. Yes. Customs is a group not to be messed with. Best case when you are not exactly by the book is you piss them off, they flag your file, and you spend the next seven years having every package opened, and secondary checks when you travel. I like the by the book idea...

What did you do this week?

It looks great. I try to avoid leather cases as it is unlikely that they will stand up to what I put my knives through. Most sheaths are worn on the outside of my gear at work. I think you did a great job on the stitching and the detail around the flap.

It might be an idea to save them for another project. Unless there is something special about the the scales and razor, like original to a particularly special razor, it’s easier to make new ones. Easy for me to say, I haven’t been in the shop for a long time. Soon I hope.

    Random Thoughts or rants.

I have not opened my shop door for many months. I have been away more than usual this year and have been quite motivationally challenged when I a, at home.

I have a retirement idea that I do a North American shop tour. Just drive from place to place hanging out and tinkering. Most of us are getting older and some have been retired for some time so I should get to it fairly early in retirement

I hear you Bruno, between my work schedule being non typical and the cost of postage in Canada, not many people should have to pay that kind of money to get a razor properly honed.

I have done some long distance teaching of honing. The first razor I send I say do nothing with this razor and shave. The razor will be a stripped 1K edge. Everyone is pretty impressed with the shave, and blown away when I tell them what they have just shaved with. I can get a pretty...

I have a friend that makes knives by hand and she has a very clever designed filing guide. Similar to the honing guides but use a file, the angle is easily changed and is pretty solid. She uses a variable speed angle grinder to rough odd the grind, then goes to here file set up and then hand...

    Random Thoughts or rants.

There are a few factors. The razor is one, the hand that honed it is another, the hones do play in but not as much as the hand honing, then there is the shave, which again is all about the hand holding it, and if the hand holding it is not skilled none of the rest of it matters. I'm with you...

I know I’m late to the party, but back a page there was some discussion on young workers. Here’s a funny story about an interaction with a young guy at work around fueling. He dipped the tank and said 1000 litres. He stopped the pump at $1000. I said you may want to dip the tank. He did and...

My issue with an aging parent is the distance. It is a long and time consuming trip. Three flights each way, and a sixteen hour day, provided that I can do it all in the same day. Travel starts in a small town with limited flights and ends in a small city with limited flights. The two big...
