I stopped using a buffing wheel for those.
I finish with CA, then sand smooth and up to 2000 grit.
That sort of shine looks much better than what you get with a buffing wheel.

Yes, it's a fairly simple 160 layers, and then twisted and flattened.
With the press I can work with bigger amounts of steel more easily than with small amounts (less heat loss) and I also try to be more efficient in the sense that my goal is to build a stock of semi hollow ground razor blanks of various steel types.

The idea is that if I get a request for a certain kind of razor, I just pick a steel blank that I can start shaping and grinding.
This takes a lot of delay out of the project and should make it easier to make razors even when the weather is bad, I am playing around with my forge or don't have raw steel of the desired specs.
