Elmax kitchen knife

This one was forged from Elmax. Forging down a thick piece of stainless with a press is seriously difficult. It cracks as soon as the dies make contact. In the end I welded a mild steel envelope around the blade and forged it down like that. The heat treatment was done in Germany by a knifemaker with a vacuum oven and cryo equipment.

It's going to a chef with 2 Michelin stars who has one of the best restaurants in the world. The customer is someone who is into culinary dining and this restaurant is his favorite one. He knows that chef, and wanted to present him with a knife.
