It is an interesting and unique taste.

If you haven't tried it Truffle salt it is very good. I just bought some for about $25 for 3.5 ounces. OMG that is still expensive!

I had some tonight on mashed potatoes and it was very good. 25 cents of salt or so was a reasonable expendature.

If you haven't tried it have fun and experiment.

Plus while dogs have slightly inferior skill in finding truffles, your chances of actually getting the truffle are higher.

Truffle farming would be an interesting adventure but it would take at least 10 years to get them from what I see.

Unless I could get one of my children/grandchildren interested I think that I will stick with my Shitake and Wine Caps for a quicker return on my investment.
