My daughter forged a BBQ poker!

My oldest daughter asked if she could make something with me, so we decided on a bbq poker as a first forging project. I made one, identical to hers. Every step of the process, I showed first how to do it, and then she did it on her piece. My work is cut from the this video, which only shows her work.

She did very well, and really liked doing this. She is interested in learning more and happy that she is able to learn this skill from me. We decided that out next project is going to be a bottle opener.

She really paid a lot of attention to my explanations and there is a chance that she will make a hobby out of this.

I told her the next thing I will teach her is a bottle opener. And if she can make them well enough, I'll probably sell them on my FB page for a low price. Not so much for the money, but because teaching her that she can earn more pocket money by making things seems a good incentive. If she has the drive and the passion to put in the effort, I could see her able to start a small side business doing this instead of working in the super market during the holidays or something in that nature.

Bravo Bruno and Bravo + to your daughter for having the interest in what you do.
Talk about quality family time...
It doesn't get any better than that!

Nothing better than spending time with your kids and enjoying a hobby together. Tell her i think she did a excellent job! I hope to be as good as her some day!

That’s great. It is really nice when one of your children is interested in learning your craft from you.

Enjoy it while you can. From my experience and guessing her age pretty soon you will become the dumbest person in the world.

And then in her mid 20's you will become smarter again......
