Thanks for posting this Bruno.
I need a new set of tires for my car, a Lexus RC 350 F-Sport AWD. Kinda expensive skins.
Knowing this allows me to do a little strategic budget planning.

My new half ton pickup gets around the same MPG and only gets to the legal speed limit a little slower.......

With smaller sidewalls yours might be harder to poke than mine though.

The scales are ready.
This is how the blade looked mounted in rough scales.

And these are the scales, buffed. I still need to use compressed air to clean out some pinprick pockets before sealing them with CA. But since my wife is asleep i cannot start the compressor so that will be for tomorrow. So close to finishing the actual blade!

@petercp4e i am strongly leaning to keeping the scales unadorned. They already have visual texture. It's going to be too much if we start carving into them.

If I was more commercially inclined, I am sure this project would already have been finished. But I like to take these special projects pace by pace, to make sure that I have thought out every next step, and that every next step is done at a moment that I have time to give it my full attention. Things of this nature do not allow for a re-do.

All done!

This was a project that started as an idea that I pitched to Pete, and then we worked out the details together.
Red, white and blue are of course the colors of the American flag. The red are rubies, the white are gem quality diamonds, and the blue are sapphires. All are natural stones, set in 18K gold settings. The jeweler I worked with offered Cubic Zircon as substitute, but I decided to eat into my margin and go for diamonds because if you go through all this effort to make something unique (Gold, gems, Pendray wootz) you want to go all the way.

I didn't chisel in my mark like I usually do. Instead, there is a heavy solid gold medallion in the tail, with my mark chiseled in. The medallion and the gems in gold were all created by jeweler Lies Vancauwenberghe.

The bone is stabilized fossil walrus rib. It was cast in resin to fill up the spongy marrow. The bone was then cut lengthwise to make the scales.

Oh boy...Oh boy...Oh boy!!!

Been looking forward to shaving with Pendray Wootz for a long time.

I can already tell that this razor is going to far exceed my expectations.

I has been a great collaboration of ideas and an awesome project to have been involved in.

Of course, Bruno's craftsmanship is the star of the show once again.

I can't thank you enough my friend!!!
