I love videos like these. Peter is a great interviewer, in that he lets the other people control the direction of things.
One scene you have to see for yourself is on 39 minutes and 10 seconds.
With a single camera pan he shows demonstrates the problem with biased reporting.

You can sure tell that you are not American using a word such as whilst.

I just had this vision of making a quilt out of all that you have collected.

Maybe I should take a side by side picture. There's quite a lot already. I've put the once I don't keep in a rotation at the back of my underwear drawer to avoid my wife getting fed up with them and making them disappear. When we started living together I used to wear white undershirts until they mysteriously started disappearing :D

I get what you mean about my choice of words. I think the reason is that I learned most of my grammar from reading a lot of books. Since I was a teenager I solely read English books. And books tend to have 'by the books' grammar. I also feel a compulsion to use 'whom' where grammar demands it instead of using 'who' even though I know it sometimes comes across as clunky.

My wife has chased me into two rooms of the house. She has 80% and I have the other 20.

She wonders why my area is a compact mess......

I cant remember the last time I had an underware drawer.

I have worked many rotating and "off" shifts therefore my cloths have been in the basement near the washing machine, dryer, and shower.

I put on what I need for the day and hopefully don't wake the rest of the family in my preperation.

A couple of weeks ago I ran the 10km in 50:08 at the annual competition event in the city next to us.
I had a feeling my speed was pretty much maxed out at the half -assed way I trained (without systems or heartrate consideration).
So I decided to go full-assed :D and bought a Forerunner 55 Garmin smart watch to start training more sensibly.
Next year I want to break 47 minutes.

I also got some bone conducting headphones from my wife that are ideal for running (she bought them for herself for cycling to work but they make her dizzy) and I'm playing with the idea of making a special playlist just for 10 km with matching songs for the different parts of the race.
If I can find the right songs (in terms of length), and work towards my goal of 47 minutes, then the plan is for this song will kick in about half a km before the finish

Howdy folks! Man has it ever been a long time since I've popped in. Life getting in the way and all that... Since moving nearly two years ago I still have not sorted out my shop, rebuilt my forge, and started playing with hot steel again. One of these days it will happen. OK, one of these months...

My poor old 2011 Kia Soul is on the verge of falling apart like the Bluesmobile after Jake and Elwood get to city hall, so hopefully in Sept its replacement will arrive. I like the size (easy to park) and utility (able to carry a surprising amount of stuff in the back) of the Soul, but thanks to our insane driveway another Soul didn't make sense as it doesn't come with AWD. Similarly, an EV was out of the question this time around as the combination of AWD and sufficient range to get to Montreal and back is still insanely expensive. My wife's folks are in Montreal, so making that round trip without having to charge was important to us. So I'm getting a Seltos with AWD.

First time buying a brand new vehicle, so I understand the sticker shock from the Grand Cherokee. o_O Those extras, fees, and taxes sure add up quickly. And I think it will take me months to figure out all the high-tech gizmos that will come installed. It will be nice not to worry about things failing and/or falling off though.

Good to see you again, fellow cheese enthusiast :) Be sure to drop by when you have a moment.

A grand cherokee is way out of my price range but I have to say: they look like they will last a lifetime and you'll drive in comfort. 13 years is a respectable age for a modern car. My Vauxhall station wagon has 8 years and I hope to use it for another 8 if I can. Every year we don't have to buy a new one is another year saving up.

If I had to buy one today, it would probably be a toyota hybrid. They have the type where you still fill up with gas, but it has electric motors that regenerate into a small battery so it results in a mix of battery / fuel driving which comes out to double mileage compared to a normal car.

As part of my effort to do the 10K in 47 minutes, I'm working on a playlist where the last song is 'Victory', kicking in 500 m before the finish.
I think I've found my first song as well.

I really like this one. It brings focus and direction, but without whipping me up too much. Imo it's ideal for starting out to keep myself from rushing too hard and burning myself up before the legs are warmed up.

Very interesting in that this is not what I would listen to but you are very different than myself. :D

I got rid of the 2005!

So I'm getting a Seltos with AWD.
We just got a new(ish) car followed by another 2 and a half months later and looked at those. We ended up getting a 21 sportage that was all decked out with the turbo and only 40k miles the first time.
After some ass blew through a stop sign and totaled it we picked a 21 sorento with 20k miles. For us the more room is a good thing and surprisingly I averaged 24mpg with the sportage, but the bigger slightly less powerful sorento averages 30mpg.
Both are/were all wheel drive.
