One difference is hugging and kissing. In Belgium it is considered normal protocol to give each other a kiss on on the cheek when arriving or leaving. Even men do so in the French speaking part of Belgium. In the Dutch speaking part it's women and women, and men and women. But we would never hug unless we are really, really close. Like best friends close. There are 2 women I'd hug other than my wife. One is my wife's best friend and godmother to my oldest, and the other is one of my best friends. And if I'm honest my friend not even often. A man giving another man a hug is not done, ever.

Otoh when I am interacting with Americans, it's the other way around and hugs are considered much more regular but a kiss isn't.

Another female singer.
Floor is a classically trained opera singer who fronts a metal band. This performance is actually her first with Nightwish. She was called in halfway through an international tour to replace the previous singer, and had 2 days to learn the set list. And then she absolutely crushed it. This is one of the best vocal performances I've ever heard.

I don't know any of the technical stuff about singing but according to vocal coaches who do reviews, Floor has mastered the differente voices a singer can have, and can switch between them on the fly to perfection.
The part between 8:20 and 9:40 is something very, very few people could ever pull off.

A couple of days ago I got a message from someone who bought the entire collection of my best customer (in terms of number bought) and he asked if I could provide details about each of them and a ballpark price. The customer had passed away and his brother sold the entire collection to a reseller of collectible razors.
I just went through the list. It spans 2014 to 2024. It's some of my best as well as some of my most basic work. 18 razors of mine, all in all. And I was told my razors, while many, were only a small part of the collection.

Went to the doctor today and he was happy along with myself how the treatments are going.

Many of the tumors are half size or lesss than they were 3 months ago!!!!

So far my bills have been over 1.5 million! and I have not had to pay much. I have nothing for them to take.. Way more than my life savings.

Even now though I wonder how many millions it it worth to save one life. Or extend it? Even if it is my own.

Glad to hear your health is moving in the right direction!

I just watched some pieces from the Tyson - Paul fight.
I've never seen a match that is so obviously fixed.
Mike's training videos show incredible speed and power and a non stop barrage of combos.
In his fight, it's 1 punch, step back, 1 punch, step back, ...
At one point he hit Paul in the head, and instead of moving in for the uppercut he steps back.

Then again, for 20 million...

I saw clips of that too. I was afraid it was going to be nothing but a money grab.
If they would have listed it as an exhibition fight then whatever, but it was a sanctioned fight. It was an insult to the sport.

I'm wondering if the tariffs are going to affect the knife and razor business.
At the moment there is no direct tariff between the EU and the US but since the global economy is 1 gigantic rube goldberg machine, a big disruption anywhere is going to make everything wobble.

One beneficial side effect to me personally is that for whatever economic reason, the USD is strengthening compared to the Euro, and since Americans are my biggest customers and my prices are always in USD, I'm getting more Euros for the same amount of $.

When you think about it it's wild that when I started in 2014, I got about 67 or 68 Eurocent for a US dollar, and now it's about 95.

Anyway, on Thursday my wife and I are going to eat at the Michelin star restaurant with the chef for whom I made a chef knife.
Kinda looking forward to it. It's the first time I ever eat in such a place (I think). It's definitely a splurge.

I'll probably finish holiday decorations with my wife.
If my son is available we may make either a bat house or a blowgun, his choice. :)

Still popping in here and there. Been busy as heck lately. We got 18 inches of snow overnight a couple days ago and it hasn't really quit since.
Going to get our tree this weekend. The wife let me get a bit of grinch stuff, but I always get her a real tree. That's her one thing she really wants every year so I always find her a good one.

I planted many christmas trees in my younger years. One year I planted 500 and then there was no rain. They all didn't make it. The ones that did now are grown trees. I have a hard time paying for a tree. I have only done that once. Now that the kids are grown and gone it isn't a big deal not to have one.
