Went to the farmers market for the first time this season and made over $100 bucks! I know that doesn't sound like a lot but it is for me. Made some lower priced S hooks just to see if they would sell and they did. I find it very hard to make simple things.
Looking forward to seeing your knives Bruno!

I look for a variety of mushrooms including Chantrelles. This time of the year it is Pheasant back, Morels and Oysters in the wild.

This last weekend I finished up my yearly spring camping/fishing trip. After 5 nights of sleeping on the ground I was ready for my bed. I have had my years supply of deep fried fish and home made chips!

Glad to her the market went good for you Vern.

Many times making money and having fun are completly different things.

My computer is getting old and today I looked at some "old" pictures.

What would be the best way in this day and age to save these.

I would put them on a thumb drive. They are small and cheap with no moving parts to wear out.

Do you have a gmail account? If so, you have several gigabytes of online storage.
If you don't, you can simply create one. Install 'google drive' for your computer, and then you can simply copy all pictures into the google drive folder (best create subfolders) and they'll be safe forever.

The best part is you can access them on your phone as well, as on any other computer where you'd install google drive.

Today I bought a new pair of running shoes. I always dislike buying new ones because they still look good and feel good. Except after 500 to 600 miles, the soles lose all cushioning and dampening. So ever time your foot lands, it slams in the ground.
In a month and a half, I'll be running my first official run. It's in the next village, 10 km, and company I work for is sponsoring the entrance fee.

The main problem I have with this is that at the moment it is free. But in six monthes they say they need $100a year to keep this for me.

At what level do you want to buy your shoes?

I have a good freind that is into bike racing. Dont buy a used racing bike. They are designed to last one race and will fail quickly after that.

In which case you can find another place. But I've been using Google for 10 years to store pucs of everything i make and it is still free.
Note that there is always a copy of everything on your local computer so it's not like they can hold you hostage.

The way Google microsoft dropbox etc work is they give you say 5 or 10 Gb free and start charging if you want more. It's the digital equivalent of 'the first one is free

I've never found a shed (even though I've looked). Of course I lose tools on my workbench so it's no wonder. :)
This weekend my doughter found a shed while mowing the grass at our campground and my son found one cutting a tree.

A couple of examples of finding things when "You are not looking!"

One of my hobbies that I don't do often enough is browsing garage sales, thrift stores and antiques markets.
I am always nosing around without any expectations at all, and often finding things I wasn't looking for.
The desk in my work-at-home-office I found brand new in a thrift store. But also smaller stuff, like a pair of new pliers, old Uranium glassware, forging tongs, an interesting hammer.

My wife knows that if we are somewhere and stumbling into an antiques market, we're delayed by a couple of hours :) I am never looking for anything particular, but I want to have seen everything because I hate walking away, not having seen everything and then missing a big treasure by only a couple of feet :D

I have a solid state hard drive that I back up my important stuff like pictures on, plus it is on a remote drive, cloud thing.

So a couple of days ago my youngest daughter had a romantic date with a boy. They went picnicking and she was completely sweet on him. And he gave her 2 cupcakes. She was so happy! And then the boy cheated on her by kissing his ex. My youngest was angry as hell and crying when she told me about it. She told me she still had the cupcakes but wanted to stomp them.

It told her hold on, I've got a better idea: let's put them in my forge and cremate them. Instant winner. She filmed them burning. I think she may have sent a couple of pics to the boy. After they were pulverized, she gave me a hug and told me she needed this. :)

aaaaah! what a sweet Dad you are! Well done! I didn't have any daughters so I'm not sure how I would have handled it. (They are different to raise than boys i'm told :) )

I admit, I did worry about that for a moment, but it burns so hot, so quickly that I didn't even smell anything, and it just because charcoal-ish as soon as it started burning.
