She reconstituted our dried mushrooms and used the water that they were reconstituted in. A little cornstarch to thicken it with black pepper and a couple of other spices. Also a beef bullion cube so she didn't add any more salt. She thinks chicken cube would taste well also.

A typical home recipe from someone that has cooked for years and will tell you 90% of what she did! LOL

I am getting hungry as I watch and wait. Chuck roast 3:15 hrs in and 148'F.

Not the greatest pic but I didn't want to leave the door open to long!

Finished it up in the oven. It is going to get down below 40'F here tonight and I don't want to fire up the old furnace and why waste the heat.

New furnace on Thursday!

Poor mans roast?????

I only got coins back from a $20 USD bill for this one. :(

Cub foods had boneless chuck roast on sale today for $6.99 a lb.

I passed as I went by to pick up a few things for my latest experiment.

Chedder jalapeno meatballs wrapped in bacon.

That is an interesting presentation of meatloaf and baked potato.

I bet you still had to use your fork to eat that one.

Oh yes. It's potato so it will break apart as soon as you bite. Plus they were ovenbaked so scalding hot.

As you say it was a nice way of presenting the ingredients

I cooked up some Haggis this morning for breakfast.

My wife made some flatbread using squash for supper tonight.

So my breakfast at work tomorrow will be Haggis in squash flatbread sandwiches. LOL

I suppose the stuff I got was an americanized version but I thought it was good.

Very similar to Gritzwurst.

The main ingredient that we can't sell in the US is sheep lungs.

Hagis is similar to many other recipes that is a good way to use the offal.

Went to my favorite Scandinavian market today. I got many things

Pictured is potato sausage that is spicier than my homemade.

The new one to me I got is Fenalår.
