So I fired up the burner way hotter today good news is the forge held up, and it gets really hot really fast inside, it does seem to heat fairly evenly. The outside gets to 230* f , I will have to get some ceramic wool to stuff the small gap around the burner. But I quickly realized the limitations of a 6” deep chamber. And using bolts as legs is not really supporting the weight very well. But now when I build the next one I know what changes I need to make. Thanks for the advice and ideas guys, I couldn’t have done it without the inspiration from others here.
Here’s a pic right after turning off the burner.
