Playing around with a little scrimshaw

Thanks. I can’t wait to see it with the blade in it. It is an impressive looking frameback. Hopefully it will get posted when complete.

It would seem some images lend themselves to scrimshaw. That one does!
I have studied scrimshaw a bit and found it is a purely American-created art form.
I also learned that YOU, Rez, are a 'scrimshander'!

I’m not sure I would say purely as it delevoped on the eastern seaboard whaling ships way back when, but we can settle for a tradition of North American sailors on whaling ships. There are some crazy scrimshanders out there. Near photographic quality of work. On the scrimshanders scale I am still fairly novice, but I am having fun and that is the main part. All those dots are pretty zen like.
Should you really be calling him that Tom? I thought you guys were friends lmao
