Where did I put that?

I am jealous of people that get focused on one thing. My mind and interests wander all around.

I need to get my pocket knife sharpened and thought that my 2x72 grinder hasn't been used since Feb. and I needed it to get out of winter storage before it got to hot in the garage. A fun excuse to get it out even if I have better tools to accomplish my task.

I removed the debris from the top that included of all things a portable bad mitten set. :)

Things went well until I realized that I have a 30 amp plug on it that I "borrowed" from Charlie at the meet in Feb.

@Charlie Lewis Did I leave my 50 amp plug at your place when I "borrowed" yours?

Having fun laughing at myself.

I did find some 12V plugs that will fit into my camper battery box that I knew I had but until I looked at them I wouldn't have thought that they were related or would fit.

I am going to now go sharpen my pocket knife on my hones that I store in a box under the living room couch.

That is unless my wife decided to move them........................

My late friend had a lot of stuff in his shop. Not garbage stuff either, and the volume was incredible. It was all very well organized for the most part. There was a large sign that read “ if you can’t find what you are looking for, try looking for something else”. I will eventually get or make a sign like that for my shed.

organization continues to allude me. I have moments where i try and organize my shop and they only last a short time. It's either because i don't have enough space/place to store my vast array of potentially useful items or i have too many projects going at once. I just hate putting away unfinished projects. Lots of time spent looking for a tool i just set down. ( i blame it on heredity)

I like to look at shop organization as a dynamic thing not a static thing. It is continually changing as my 3D inventory is also always changing. I try to always buy the same series in my organization items. I have rubber made totes that stack well together, I also have lock lid containers that help a lot too. Of course the labeler helps to keep track of what is in things and when I build cabinets and shellving I try to size them according to my tote or container sizes.

I bought a labeler to help with the mystery boxes. Of course, that removed the mystery and Christmas like effect of opening a box I couldn't see through. I think it took me three days to come up for air once I put batteries in it. If you think about buying or giving away a labeler please add a few extra rolls of tape to go with it.

I like sharpies or the equivalent.

If the marker gets X'd out to many times them resort to a label!

When I took this I had to laugh at myself the painters tape is holding a gas line for the weed wacker in the background.

I didn't want to loose it and need to take it to the store to make sure I am buying the right size!

Most frustrating is when you have been walking past something for weeks on end and you register it but without really paying attention 'where' it is.
And then you need it and spend an hour trying to recall where it was.
